Instead of tossing a bouquet and subjecting their girlfriends to bodily harm, Turkish brides use shoes and dancing to determine the next bride-to-be! How fun is that? Before the ceremony, the single women autograph the sole of the bride's wedding shoe. After dancing the night away, Turkish legend has it that the person whose name who has rubbed off the most will be the next to marry.
Just one more reason to enjoy dancing the night away.

I was reading over your blog. Really nice, filled with information. This one really interest me. I'm someone that loves to incorporate other traditions with my own. The shoe idea is a adorable. I was thinking how cute it would be to just have your maids sign as a good luck down the aisle. Its a little cutier than a sixpence for sure.
Or if a grandfather was ill, and unable to make it to the wedding. He could write a message on her shoe. This way he would still be walking her down the aisle.
Just ideas. Great blog. I'll be checking it out frequently.
