The Most Amazing Wedding Video Ever!!

I'll admit to being a little biased here since it happens to be the highlights reel from our wedding!

Picking a videographer was a tough choice for us. We wanted something classic yet modern, with fabulous music, ingenious editing and award-winning style! In addition, the Globetrotting Groom wanted the latest high-tech filming techniques so the video would look fabulous on his Apple TV and HDTV set up. We had looked at hundreds of wedding videos but when we met with Joe from J.P.I Films, we knew he was the one.

The J.P.I Films crew was super professional, totally unobtrusive and fun to have around (future brides, this is important!). If you're still searching for a videographer (FYI, they will travel outside NY), I highly, highly recommend them.

Hot off the press, I present you with J.P.I Video's latest masterpiece, Lyla and David's Highlights reel:

Want to be like Sarah Jessica Parker? Here's an amazing photo shoot location.

Did you see this month's Harper's Bazaar cover with Sarah Jessica Parker? Gorgeous right?

It reminded me of our engagement photo shoot which just happened to take place on the very same Brooklyn Bridge!!!

If you're in looking for an interesting NYC venue for an engagement or wedding shoot, you'll want to give this a thought. Here are some of my favorite pics from the day:

Want to just pick up and travel the globe????

I've got just the inspiration you need! The Lost Girls are a threesome of gals who left their New York City lives (bye bye jobs, apartments, families and boyfriends!) and embarked on a yearlong round-the-world journey. How amazing is that?

Check out their blog to read about their exciting trip, get some travel inspiration, find some cool travel links and read about other cool Lost Girls around the world. You'll also get some amazing honeymoon ideas from their travels (um, Bali, New Zealand, Australia, Kenya, Brazil, India, Thailand, anyone?).

Oh and you might even spot a familiar face -- The Lost Girls did a really great feature on yours truly yesterday. Check it out here!

You're all dressed up and WHERE?????

Sarah from Wed2010 did a really fun post the other day that featured photos of two of my favorite TV ladies all dressed up in McDonalds!

First was Gossip Girl's Blake Lively and Penn Badgley (Serena and Dan):

Second was Sex and the City's Carrie and the Russian:

These pics reminded me of some fun pre-wedding photos the Globetrotting Groom and I took. We got married at a very glamorous venue called Louis XVI (think crystal chandeliers, water views and French waiters) and about 200 feet away is a very beachy take out spot called Nancy's crab shack.

During the planing phase, we kept joking that we were going to stop by for a pre-wedding snack and we did! How fun are these photos? All photo credits go to Belathee Photography.

I just love the expressions.

You can safely say they don't get many brides and grooms.

Are you gonna share that?

I should send these to Snapple!

And off to marry we go...

Are you planning to take any fun pre- or post-wedding shots?

Put a ring on it!

Ok ladies, in follow-up to my previous ring photography post, I've started a tradition of photographing my wedding rings on all my trips. It's a fun way to chronicle my travels and as my mom pointed out, my rings will look the same years and years from now. Not sure what she meant by that...

Anyway, here are some of my favorite photos from our Mexico winter-moon (tune in Friday for the review).
Oh and a few things I learned:

- Be very careful when shooting around the pool on a windy day
- Don't attempt to photograph your ring in the sand unless its in a bowl

If you want to see some more I've put them online here.
Let me know what you think and feel free to email me with your traveling ring shots too!

Brooklyn Bride's Holiday Card Swap

I love to get crafty so I was psyched to participate in Brooklyn Bride's 2nd Annual Card Swap. I thought you'd enjoy taking a peek at my creation.

1) First I stamped a
chandelier image onto Stardream Opal cardstock and 6x9 Stardream Copper envelopes with a VersaMark watermark ink pad.

2) Next, I sprinkled Butterscotch embossing powder over the images and shook off the extra powder. I fired up my embossing gun and applied heat to the design which made it puffy and shiny.

3) I wrote everyone a personal note wishing them happy holidays and best wishes for a New Year filled with happiness, prosperity and travel.

4) I put each envelope in a cellophane envelope and filled with chocolates (and paper stuffing for protection)!

5) The final product. Front:

And back:

6) I put them in mailing envelopes and headed off to the post office!

I'll be posted photos of the cards I received next week so stay tuned...
