Recession friendly weddings in Paris?? Oui, Oui!!

Overseas destination weddings usually offer couples substantial savings over tying the knot at home (fewer guests, better exchange rates, lower restaurant pricing, more affordable vendors, etc.). But, did you know that a wedding in Paris, one of the most romantic cities on earth, could actually save you money?

Kim Petyt of Parisian Events, one of Paris' famed wedding planners, did a blog post entitled The Recessionista's Guide to a Wedding in Paris, and its chock full of great information. Best of all, I learned that the average cost of a 100-guest wedding in France is $14,960 dollars compared with the United States average of $27,900 (and obviously much higher in major cities)! Some food for thought if you're thinking of saying "Oui."

Kim's Parisian Party blog is also a great source to learn about Parisian wedding trends and traditions, eloping in Paris, French bridal fashions, wedding favors, invitations and much more!

Tis the season for proposals!

How cute would this little Eiffel Tower be for a secret proposal? It would also be an adorable wedding favor for a French themed wedding.

I See London, I See France

On my fingernails!

OPI Nail Lacquer's Couture Couleur fall/winter line is named after one of the most romantic countries in the world, France. The colors were inspired by the effortless elegance of French fashion and I'm sure you can guess that I'm madly in love with the fun names.

I was wearing Tickly My France-y before the chilly weather set in - its an updated nude with a hint of lilac which would actually work on a bride. Now I'm onto You Don't Know Jacques! which is a trendy taupe. Next on my list to try are:

I'm Fondue of You - inspired by milk chocolate

Eiffel For This Color - a shimmery wine

If you're interested in matching your bridesmaid's nails to their dresses, I think these colors would work great with the hot lavender and purple shades invading the wedding world. If you haven't noticed, check out this inspiration board from South Africa's Prima Donna Bride.

Or, maybe you're just looking for a new shade for winter. Try them out at your local nail salon or see more shades online.
