The Wedding Dress Sale to end all sales.....

Yup, its that time again!

You've heard of Running of the Bulls right? Now imagine brides chasing wedding dresses instead of animals. Yes, the Filene's Basement "Running of the Brides" wedding gown sale is underway once again.

If you need a dress and want a bargain, this event is for you. If you're traveling this summer, you may want to add Boston to your list since that's the biggest sale. Bring some bridesmaids along and have fun!

Happy Friday!

Honeymoon packing tip #10 - Make Room for RuMe!

If you're like me, you never know when you're going to find something you need - on a vacation, on your way home, or as you're heading out. Since I love the planet as much as I love shopping, I have taken to carrying a reusable tote in my bag at all times.

Sure there are lots of these on the market but my favorite comes from
RuMe. They are super small and light when folded and large enough for groceries or a day's worth of shopping when unfolded. Best of all, they are super sturdy (think groceries for the week) and they fit perfectly over your shoulder keeping your hands free. I also discovered that they can also double as a beach bag - here we are in Anguilla last month:

They're available in an array of sizes and patterns so order one or a few to throw in your honeymoon suitcase. They would also make nice bridesmaid gifts or destination wedding Out of Town bags.

Nifty, Eco-Friendly Personalized Gift Idea

Staying hydrated is super important for summer brides and bridal parties! I love the idea of giving your bridesmaids and groomsmen personalized and eco-chic SIGG water bottles from CafePress.

You simply enter a personal message or date, select your design template (or upload your own artwork or photo) and voila, you're done!

These bottles are great to bring along on your travels too...

The Most Amazing First Wedding Dance

I think Shana and Rob had the best first wedding dance ever! They choreographed their wedding dance to "I Got You Babe" by Sonny and Cher and they just look like they are having so much fun...

Then, Shana and her bridesmaids did a routine to Beyonce's "Single Ladies" which is also amazing.

Check out their great videos and the whole story on Smitten.

Are you going to choreograph your first dance?

Wedding Correspondence - Send it by E-Mail? Snail Mail?...TELEGRAM!

One of my good friends has an old telegram message framed in her apartment. Its a message sent to her dad announcing that she was born (he was in the Army or something like that at the time). It's faded and full of typos but it always catches my eye.

If you're looking for a cool way to include some retro correspondence into your wedding plans, check out Telegram Stop.

You fill out the telegram information online and for just $4.70 it gets sent to the recipient anywhere in the world as an old-school telegram! I think it would be a fun way to ask "Will you be my bridesmaid?," or to say "Happy Anniversary," or maybe even just to wish the wedding couple a Bon Voyage on their honeymoon.

If you're the DIY type, click here to download your own Western Telegram template - this would be so cute for Save The Dates!

Do you have the most perfect wedding shoes?

If you love shoes as much as I do, you'll want to keep you perfect wedding shoes looking perfect right until the big day.

From dress maker fittings, dance lessons and celebratory parties, brides-to-be do a lot of shoe schlepping. I've found the perfect solution to let your shoes travel in style....no more plastic grocery bags, scuff marks or dirty clothing when you use....a Shubi bag!

Shubi bags are the most beautiful shoe bags I've ever seen! They come in two styles (one piece or two for those who don't like their shoes to touch), are made of top-quality cotton (super durable), are fully lined in complementary-colored fabric and close with single drawstrings made of grosgrain ribbon.

Best of all, they can also be used for toting toiletries, hair dryers and straighteners, handbags, wine and even a laptop!

There are dozens of fabrics to choose from. Check out these great designs:
I think they'd be a fantastic present for any bride-to-be and a great gift idea for your bridesmaids.

Need help being an organized bride?

1) Overwhelmed with wedding planning details?
2) Got Post It notes all over the bathroom mirror?
3) Can't remember who you've spoken to and who you need to call?

If you've answered yes to one of these questions, you might need a little help being an organized bride.

If you can't think before you've had some coffee, I think this fun write on glass mug will get you on the road to organizational recovery. Just jot down the day's to-dos in the appropriate time slot and you're all set. A mini pencil and eraser is included so you can start fresh every day.

I think this would help any bride (or groom, or bridesmaid...) keep track of the planning while enjoying a little caffeine fix.

Want a little Moroccan inspiration?

I'm always dreaming of a Moroccan getaway so when I spotted Bridal Buzz' post on Moroccan Sunrise Collection by Sephora, I was intrigued...

I love that the products are just as pretty as the packaging. In addition, the limited-edition collection features lots of travel-friendly cases making them perfect for a destination wedding or weekend retreat.

You'll find bronzer, eye shadow and lip gloss in sun-kissed shades and tres chic gold and white, tangerine and gold or fushia and gold cosmetic bags. I think they'd make great bridesmaid presents.

Enjoy the ugliness...

The ultimate personalized wedding gifts...

I found this fun site called Not Just Any Old Day and I had to share these sterling silver calendar charms (on jewelry or gifts) marked with a genuine Swarovski crystal to commemorate your special date! They've been nice enough to offer a 10% discount for Globetrotting Bride readers so just click here to order.

How cute would these be for a wedding or anniversary gift? You could also give them to your bridesmaids with their birthdays or anniversary dates.
I love the key chains, money clips and biz card holders for the guys. And, they just introduced a cake server which would be perfect for a wedding!

Below (cake server, charm, bracelet, key chain, money clip and card holder) are my favorites:

Honeymoon packing tip #6 - Give your bras and panties a safe home

Here's another one of those things you didn't know you needed...invented by necessity of course.

I introduce you to the amazing duo: the Bra Bag and Panty Pak from the Brag Company.

(And no, this is not a photo of me and my friends...)

The Bra Bag (in regular and buxom) safely protects up to six bras in a durable, yet cute hard case that will surely make any customs officer blush. Best of all, no more dented bras or bent underwires.

The Panty Pak is a lightweight tote with two zippered compartments labeled "clean" and "not so clean" and exterior pockets.

I took them for a test drive on a recent trip to Miami and I was very impressed. Here we are:

The only downside is you need to save a little extra space in your luggage for the Bra Bag. I think they would also be a great way to transport bikinis.

If you're looking for great gift idea for a bride-to-be or a cute bridesmaid present, check them out online or click here to find them at a store near you.

You Don't have to be Greek to wear these Greek Goddess Gowns

Did you fall in love with a gown from my post on one-shouldered wedding dresses? I was just checking out Reem Acra's Fall dresses and I think they would be be a perfect match for your glamorous bridesmaids.

These Greek goddess inspired dresses come in yummy shades of silk satins, taffetas, chiffons and shantungs with plenty of draping and twisting going on. And, I think any girl would definitely want to wear these again and again.

Valentine's Gifts for Girls

Some Valentine's Day inspiration for your favorite bride-to-be, bridesmaid, or gal pal!

Do you know someone who wears her heart on her sleeve? She might like this Tiffany heart bracelet.

Remember days of the week panties? I'm loving these "7 Ways to Say I Love You" Boyshorts.

What girl doesn't like breakfast in bed? I'd love to see one of these cute sugar hearts (on sale) on my morning coffee cup.

For the foodie, how about these cute heart measuring spoons?

Nothing is more romantic than being whisked away for a weekend trip! I love a rolling duffel I can store under my bed and this Diane von Furstenberg one (on sale) comes in fushchia, red or olive.

You can't go wrong with perfume and this
Sephora Scent Sampler Trendsetters for Her is a great way to pick a favorite scent. My sister got me this for Chanukah and I love it!

Looking for lingerie? I'm not sure what a merrywidow is but here's one in pink satin from Victoria's Secret.

Honeycat Pamper Yourself Gift Basket - Full of bubble bath and edible goodies for the lady who loves to be pampered.

It's a Wrap! Recessionista Fashion Finds.

Two of my favorite dresses are on SALE at Calypso so I am spreading the exciting news. Both are versatile and travel-friendly and would be oh-so-fabulous for a tropical bridesmaid, engagement party or honeymoon.

Flying Coach? The Julia Silk Dress is your ticket for just $49 (orig. $195). Available in vibrant Aquamarine (my fave), Mimosa or Nile, this is one of the most popular wrap dresses around. This number can easily go from lunch in St. Maarten to dinner and dancing in St. Barts.

Flying First Class? The Butter by Nadia Satin Wrap Dress is now $199 (orig. $270). Available in Champagne (my fave), Tawny, and Cinnamon. This convertible dress can be warn in countless ways including strapless, backless and the popular one-shoulder look. The ballgown length is also on sale. This is a fantastic bridesmaid dress since one size fits all (no costly alternations) and each girl can pick a style to flatter her figure.

You snooze, you lose! All sizes/colors are currently in stock so act fast...
